An interactive science exhibit exploring temperature sensation and thermal perception. As a science museum exhibit manufacturer specializing in hands-on science exhibits, Zoomking designed this installation for children's museum exhibits, science center exhibits, and STEM education exhibits focused on experiential science education through multi-sensory interactive display and visitor engagement.
Product Introduction:
"Knowing Cold and Hot" is an interactive physiological exhibit centered on the human body's temperature perception mechanism. The installation consists of a metal cylinder with hot and cold water pipes wound around it and a precise temperature control system. Through the temperature difference between the left and right ends and the central area, it reveals the unique laws governing skin temperature perception.
Hot water flows through the metal pipe on the left side of the exhibit, while cold water flows through the right, creating a stark contrast. The central area is a carefully designed alternating temperature zone of 42°C—a temperature precisely at the critical point that could cause burns. When visitors touch the left and right ends, they can clearly perceive the difference between hot and cold. However, when they grasp the central part, they experience a stinging, burning sensation, far exceeding the experience of touching the hot water pipe alone.
