This interactive exhibit centers on a Möbius strip designed to resemble a race track, paired with two small ladybug models in distinct colors. It offers a playful, visual way to explore the unique mathematical properties of this one-sided surface.
The two ladybugs chase each other continuously along the track. When Ladybug B catches up to Ladybug A, B slows down while A accelerates. Once A overtakes B, the roles reverse, creating an endless cycle of pursuit that demonstrates the strip’s unbroken loop.
LED lights embedded in the track enhance the visual effect, highlighting the path of the ladybugs as they move. Notably, the ladybugs never need to cross the edge of the Möbius strip—they seamlessly transition between the front and back curved surfaces.
This design lets viewers intuitively grasp the core properties of a Möbius strip: its single, infinite loop and non-orientable surface, turning abstract topology into a memorable, hands-on experience.
Ideal for interactive zones, display areas, STEM corners and educational spaces.
Perfect for museums, science centers, schools, libraries and shopping malls.
