Product Introduction
"Vowels" is an interactive science exhibit. It focuses on speech science and how we make sounds when we speak.
The exhibit includes five sound-making devices (each with an airbag), tubing, rubber stoppers, and easy-to-read text and pictures.
Each device corresponds to one of the five basic Mandarin vowels: a, o, e, i, u.
Here’s how it works:
1. Insert the rubber tubing into the sound-making device’s opening.
2. Press the rubber stopper.
The air from pressing makes the airbag inside the device vibrate. This simulates how our vocal cords vibrate and how we adjust our mouths to make sounds.
You’ll hear clear vowel sounds each time. Try different devices to hear the unique sound of each vowel and notice their differences.
